Essential tool for any Law Firm

5.0 5 months ago

Comments: My cases average in excess of 50,000 documents with some reaching 1 million (with over 1 TB held by Nextpoint for the past 4 years and all we pay is a per user fee each month.) Nextpoint has allowed us to review productions fast and efficiently creating production logs and privilege logs directly within the system as part of the export. This alone has saved us from requesting extensions of time and keeping our cases within the original trial deadlines helping our clients reach resolutions much faster. I cannot imagine not using nextpoint.

Pros:

In the paperless office environment we all live in it is essential that discovery not be priced per storage needs. Nextpoint's per user fee billing saves our clients money and helps us budget our discovery costs regardless of the size of the case.

Cons:

Exchanging documents with other lawfirms under an ESI agreement can be cumbersome as each platform determines the standard production an this has been a problem in some of our cases. The industry needs to agree on a single standard to avoid this or build in export templates for the largest services. With that said the Support staff is always there to help.

Nextpoint makes it easy to review documents

5.0 4 months ago

Comments: Overall, easy to use and quick. I've been able to set up the categories of documents I want, and the various levels of designation quickly. The program is straightforward and doesn't take a lot of time to learn.

Pros:

The layout makes it easy to search for and review documents. Actually reviewing a document and searching through it is also easy and quick.

Cons:

Batch reviewing/marking documents was a bit difficult. Also, the process to print out a pdf of a designated document was a bit difficult.

Anxious for Nextpoint to work out the 'kinks.'

3.0 5 years ago

Comments: Not a great 'diy' solution. You really need their premium support and specific task training. They are very receptive to product feature improvement suggestions and have great communication on new functionality.

Pros:

Nextpoint pricing model is very affordable. Case set up is simple and relatively quick. Productions, once your templates are set, are very straightforward. Transferring data from the Review db to the Prep db worked great and Prep is very functional, although I did not have the opportunity to export it for trial presentation. One-on-one product support staff are extremely helpful.

Cons:

Admin tasks in this product require more steps than it should take and cannot be done 'on the fly.' The trainers even say that they have multiple windows open at once to perform these tasks, then refresh the window you are working in. The UTC date is everpresent and takes back-end work to show local time zones, which costs PM billing time. Search language is unique, if you have a boolean searching background and try to apply it, you will get frustrated and need to learn the specific search language format in Nextpoint. Even with their advanced search area, we would get inconsistent results when attempting multiple search criteria. 'Help Desk' support often misses the mark in resolving support issues.

Best document review platform I have used!

5.0 last year

Comments: Nextpoint is the perfect solution for small cases and large cases, it is easy to use and has tons of useful functionality that is continually improved upon.

Pros:

Nextpoint with fast, easy to use, and forgiving! They are always developing new features. My favorite part is that I have a great deal of control over my databases, but the vendor is there to answer questions or provide more support for those who want it. It is visually pleasing, works on all devices and has quickly become my go-to software.

Cons:

The application of redactions is cumbersome. It takes a lot of steps and the imaging per page makes it a slow process.

Deposition Transcript Management Platform

5.0 5 months ago

Comments: Superb customer service. I especially appreciate that they are staffed with experienced litigation attorneys who can infuse the product and conversations with practical knowledge and understanding.

Pros:

Best UIX I've encountered. Superior customer service. Dev team listens to end users and accepts critical feedback.

Cons:

The product continues to advance - but there are some areas where further development could occur. I believe these will be overcome as long as the company continues to engage in constructive dialogue with its end users.

Kelli and Nextpoint

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: Love the product, love all our client reps, the support staff is absolutely amazing.

Pros:

It's very easy to use - has better features than leading products such as Everlaw and Relativity.

Cons:

Sometimes the bugs cause inconvenience - usually the sorting and filtering areas, but they are short lived. I can't stand the redaction tool, and our reps are always aware of how much I hate it. But I also know it's a work in progress. And, while I prefer Nextpoint to Everlaw a million times over, I very much like Everlaw's redaction tool and versioning process (to a certain extent, however, as there are some parts of both that I dislike). Quite frankly, there aren't many things I dislike about Nextpoint.

A terrific rediscovery solution

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: We've been pleased with Nextpoint overall. The "all you can use" pricing model means we're free to use the software for all of our cases without fear of sticker shock when clients receive the bill.

Pros:

The software is relatively user-friendly, and the online help features are particularly helpful. We've also enjoyed our interactions with Nextpoint staff, who are uniformly responsive, friendly, and helpful.

Cons:

Most of our concerns about the software have been addressed in updates over the years we've been using the platform. That said, we acknowledge Nextpoint isn't as powerful as some of the top-tier ediscovery platforms. But it's not priced like those platforms either, so the trade-off is a fair one.

A Trial Paralegal's Perspective

5.0 5 months ago

Comments: Nextpoint offers significant advantages, starting with its seamless transition from discovery to litigation, and culminating in enhanced courtroom efficiency. Its robust organizational tools and remote access capabilities streamline the entire process from initial organization to effective presentation in the courtroom.

Pros:

One of Nextpoint's standout features is its robust organizational tools, which let users sort information by facts, people, and issues in alignment with the trial process. Additionally, its remote access capability is invaluable in the courtroom, allowing legal professionals to manage case files, evidence, and documents in real-time, including finding and marking exhibits or deposition call outs on the fly as issues arise.

Cons:

The system does have limitations in the ability to map all metadata fields during import. This can result in complicating data representation, requiring manual corrections to ensure consistency.

Comments: Very user friendly once you learn how to maneuver throughout all the options

Pros:

Easy to review and code documents in a reasonable fashion

Cons:

Good Reasonably Priced Option

4.0 5 months ago

Pros:

Ease of use - the software is very user friendly, searching is fast, bulk tagging very useful

Cons:

Certain useful metadata fields are hidden and there is no access to the back end of the database to make edits (such as editing productions, and re-upload load files); there are limitations to perform various tasks (maximum 5,000 documents) - cumbersome when you have very large databases

User-friendly platform for eDiscovery

4.0 5 months ago

Pros:

Building a database from scratch with Nextpoint is quite simple. After a few trainign sessions, or with the extensive guides available, coding your database is easy.

Cons:

Considering the product is rapidly evolving, sometimes one can run into little glitches that can make you lose some work or slow down the process. However, the helpdesk is ready and available to assist!

Love Nextpoint

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: All in all, using Nextpoint is critical to our e-discovery process and I enjoy using it as well as training others how to use it. The support team is also very helpful.

Pros:

Search tools make document intensive cases easier to handle. Production templates, especially in cases where ESI protocols need to be used, are efficient and user friendly. Easy to view metadata and spot spoliation issues.

Cons:

I do not like how the de-duplication feature works. Often times, does not work properly at all, especially with production of documents from opposing parties. The software updates have created more margins for processing errors, do not like that when addressed with Nextpoint, we are charged for system error help (this is a recent development). Bulk features have been glitchy lately as well.

Intuitive software. Excellent Customer Service

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Nextpoint has been such a value add to our firm. The interface is very intuitive. We have had a higher user adoption rate since migrating our data away from our previous on-prem solution. We are utilizing Nextpoint as an enterprise level solution. We migrated 180 databases and are now up to close to 250. We give Nextpoint a workout daily and are happy with it's performance and general ease of use on both the user and the administrative sides. It was a big decision to make to migrate our databases, but it was very much worth the work! We have happier users and admins as a result.

Pros:

We love the mobility of access with Nextpoint. We also love the ability to link to any document, search result or document set to direct users to what you want them to see, share or produce. Nextpoint's customer service is unparalleled. The software is updated and refined based on customer feedback. They really value the customer experience. The software is so intuitive, we have been able to significantly decrease our training time, compared to our last review platform.

Cons:

We are looking forward to a more robust set of administrative tools. There are a few things that require assistance from Nextpoint and we look forward to being able to be more self-sufficient in the future. I understand these features are in the works.

NextPoint is Great!

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Really like it. Support team is fantastic and always quick to respond. The area that could be built out more is the trial prep portion. The database is great for doc review and organizing but when it comes to trial preparation, it could use some expansion of its capabilities.

Pros:

It's easy to use and navigate the entire database.

Cons:

Trial exhibit export and stickering is inefficient. If we had a way to bulk export and keep the family as one pdf vs exporting each individual family as one pdf.

Tools for E-discovery

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: More user-friendly than when originally started - but still a bit advanced.

Pros:

Useful to sort and code, mark-up, redact, and view metadata.

Cons:

Importing of pdfs, issues with load files and mapping, not being able to endorse a duplicate document in more than one production without removing or overriding the original endorsement. If there is a way to do this - please let me know! Cannot easily share non-endorsement documents (a load file is not always necessary when sharing a pdf document, for example) - doesn't keep a document whole when sharing multiple pdfs.

Best way to manage massive discovery databases

4.0 4 years ago

Pros:

Searching by coding and tags is great, but being able to search for text that actually appear in a document is priceless. I love the old-school Boolean search functions, it's so easy to use once you take the five minutes it takes to learn -- but can you please put in a Boolean cheat sheet somewhere easily accessible? I'm not crazy about the "advanced search."

Cons:

As with any "cloud" based software, it can be slow and lag at times. Also, when reviewing large databases, sometimes clicking return to search results does not actually return me to the page showing the last document I actually just clicked back from. Sometimes the search results move around after clicking return to search results. Both of these things are very frustrating.

Y M Sandoval

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: I appreciate the ability to communicate directly with various members of the Nextpoint team. They also have Zoom chats with other end users to get feedback on their product.

Pros:

Ability to find documents and set up for document review. They are constantly improving the software and accept feedback from end users.

Cons:

Not able to rename files in the file room (document staging area) but that can be resolved with developing naming conventions when placing documents in staging area.

Great Product for Small Firms

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Our two-lawyer firm has been using NextPoint for around six months. We have been able to bring the discovery process totally in-house instead of using expensive e-discovery vendors for large projects. It did take some time to learn the ins and outs of uploading loadfiles and productions, but for any moderately savvy tech person it should not be that difficult after a few tries.

Pros:

Allows large discovery projects to be taken in-house, relatively easy to use for reviewing client documents and exporting productions.

Cons:

Somewhat of a steep learning curve for some of the functions--such as uploading a "ranged import" production. Customer service is also not always the best, especially with lowest cost plan. A lot of self-study is required.

Nextpoint Review

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: Our experience has been great. Our account manager has been very helpful.

Pros:

The web/cloud based dynamic and lack of need for "seat-fees."

Cons:

The possible removal of our "deal" - with fixed monthly cost, plus storage.

Nextpoint Response

Hi Anthony, Thanks very much for your review. While Nextpoint has moved to an "unlimited data" pricing model with zero charges for data processing and hosting we always allow legacy customers to stay with the pricing plan they are most comfortable with and that works best for their organization. The majority of our customers prefer the predictability and affordability of our low, per-user monthly pricing; which is why I wanted to make sure and outline it for you upon your renewal. But, we are always happy to accommodate long-standing clients (like your firm) with pricing that fits their needs. Thanks again for being a Nextpoint user and for your review. Nextpoint Review

4.0 9 years ago

Comments: I've used Nextpoint since approximately 2011. I've seen it evolve and improve its capabilities and features over that time. I've formed long lasting relationships with staff and can depend on them to answer my questions - even if I've asked the same question before.

Pros:

The speed the program can search for a document; the customization of coding features; the staff.

Cons:

The format changes often, e.g. color scheme. I find the new format of the Nextpoint Training tab to not be as user friendly as before.

Easy to Use Document Review Platform

5.0 8 years ago

Comments: I have been in litigation support since 2003 and used a variety of products over the course of my time. After several major players started to become less popular I looked for some alternative cloud-based solutions and NextPoint has been a great option. It is very easy to use, has amazing customer service, and most importantly the team listens to customer feedback and provides solid solutions to ensure that their software does what their customers need for it to do. It is always improving and a great tool for litigation teams.

Pros:

Easy searching capabilities, simplistic loading, and great customer support.

Cons:

They just fixed my major complaint which was the ability to highlight directly on a document. While there may be functionality that does not exist, I find the customer support to be extremely good at talking through problems and helping to implement solutions whether it be through feature requests or simply teaching me a different way to do things.

Comments: It has made document review and sharing much easier and less time consuming.

Pros:

Foldering in Nextpoint is invaluable!

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Very happy with the speed of uploads, usability of foldering.

Pros:

Foldering! This makes everything more intuitive. It makes is easy for users to immediately jump in and look at documents without any "training". Uploading files is quick and easy. Also being able to label, catergorize files during upload is great.

Cons:

The exporting is a little complicated. But once templates are set up it is easier.
