STACK Reviews for Indian Users
STACK is open-source software used for creating online assessments in mathematics, science, etc.
Comments: he STACK software is highly regarded for its ability to handle various mathematical expressions and provide immediate feedback to students. Its randomized question generation and compatibility with popular learning management systems are also well-received. However, some users have found the software to have a difficult learning curve and challenging setup and customization. Nonetheless, despite these potential drawbacks, the STACK software is widely recognized as a valuable tool for both educators and students in creating and grading math assessments.
Pros:
STACK software has several strengths, including its ability to handle various mathematical expressions and offer randomized questions and answers. It also provides immediate feedback to students, which is crucial for them to comprehend their errors and enhance their comprehension of the subject. Furthermore, its open-source nature and compatibility with popular learning management systems make it a practical tool for educators to use when creating assessments.
Cons:
the STACK software has been identified as having some potential drawbacks or limitations. These may include a difficult setup process and customization, as well as compatibility issues with certain web browsers and operating systems. However, the STACK team typically responds to user feedback and provides updates and support to address these issues.
Alternatives Considered:
Powerful tool for job costing and estimating
Comments: Stack has taken our time to create and estimate and cut it in half. We now can produce more accurate estimates, in less time.
Pros:
Having everything with the takeoff and estimating process all in one place makes stack stand out from the competition. I can take plans, to an estimate all in one place
Cons:
The set up process everything feels a little tedious, but it all functions very well.
Missing a lot of user features of other software
Comments: Takes twice as long as our previous software to navigate and load pages
Pros:
Works online so multiple people can have access at the same time
Cons:
VERY hard to navigate between plans and takeoffs
A great product that save time and accurately figures out materials and costs per project
Comments: [sensitive content hidden], our sales manager for our counter sales people loves it and he uses it everyday. Colin, who also does bids and has been intigrating his takeoff with STACK also loves the programs as it has been easy to learn, and is easy to turn off or on features that we want for our customers.
Pros:
I tested STACK a few years ago as our sales team spent hours figuring out materials and costs longhand. STACK was incredibly easy to learn and cut our sales teams time spent on large and small projects by so much. We have been able to get back to the contractor quickly with an accurate quote
Cons:
Right now, there are more pros than cons. We do sheet metal and gutters, so it would be nice to have that available in STACK also as our jobs often cross over on several products for the same job
Alternatives Considered:
Great Cloud Based Software for Estimating & Takeoff
Comments: 10/10, all of my users love it and all of our PMs say it's the best takeoff tool thus far in their careers. Even the more seasoned ones.
Pros:
Fantastic takeoff features, great training and support, one of if not the first cloud-based takeoff platforms. All for a reasonable price.
Cons:
There are no real negatives to STACK that me or any of our users can think of.
Stack construction software- a users aspect
Comments: I had used this software for estimation of construction work for my residence. They have this 3D modelling feature for the look of end product with some detailings. The costing estimates are slightly high
Pros:
They have this 7 days free trial version, you can go and work on a maximum of 2 concurrent projects. They have an estimation and takeoff system. So you can go through before taking the paid version
Cons:
They features and functionalities in free version are pretty less and we can’t actually get a feel of what actually they have in store for us
My experience with Stack
Pros:
I love stack overall. Its super easy to use and we take advantage of the integration that’s in it.
Cons:
I wish they had more mark up features. Such as arrows, boxes, circles, and I also wish they had a better cloud markup tool. To make it adjustable of the sizing and not just one size.
daily prolific user
Comments: great
Pros:
copy / paste works great. copy project works great. export to excel or other places is great.
Cons:
I wish I could copy 1 page or a group of quantities from one project and paste it into a different project.
It’s great!
Comments: Great
Pros:
I like the quick ease of use, the ability to build assemblies and items leads to quick estimating.
Cons:
Can’t see unit cost and or unit price of a take off.
A promising tool
Comments: On the one hand, I appreciate the main features of this platform, such as access to project plans at any time and from any device, as well as the database library of pre-built and custom materials. These features have been helpful in streamlining my appraisal and estimation processes, and have helped maximize the efficiency of my business.
Pros:
What I liked the most is its ability to access my project plans at any time and from any device. This allows me to have the information I need at my fingertips, which is vital to streamline my evaluation and estimation processes. Also, the library of pre-built and custom material databases is a standout feature.
Cons:
One of the aspects that I liked the least is the lack of clarity in the user interface. Sometimes the navigation can be a bit confusing, making it difficult to find certain features or access certain tools. As someone who values efficiency and usability, this can be frustrating and slow down my work processes.
STACK is critical to our success.
Pros:
Every member of our estimating team loves this program, even the members who are old school and used to only using printed blueprints. They converted seamlessly and love the software.
Cons:
It is a bit expensive. We would like to have more users who could use the program simultaneously so we can get more projects done, but we have to limit our users due to cost.
stack
Comments: I used Stack in many special projects in my work, and it gave me the best results and the best experience, and this enabled me to complete my workin perfect way
Pros:
I use stack in for my work and I found it easily and very flexible and schedule project is the one of many important things
Cons:
I found some minor errors, but they are not an obstacle in using Stack and can be easily fixed and make it flexible
User friendly but Estimates with Labor and Quantity of Materials needs to improve
Comments: Overall it's a good software platform, although the learning curve takes a lot of work and time to get used to how it functions to get to your overall goal, which is an accurate estimate from electronic plans/aerial images. Id say the best feature is the takeoffs since its so fluid. The Reports tab and Estimates tab needs some improvement though. I would even add an additional tab for things like proposal generation or a landing page for Salesforce.com.
Pros:
It's very user friendly when you know how to make Stack work for you.. The vibrant colors associated to it. The fluidity of the takeoffs. The modern, cutting-edge technology.
Cons:
The Estimates tab feature needs to be improved dramatically. It is not only confusing with the wording and placement of cost categories, but the pricing can be off sometimes. The labor or Degree of Difficulty should have a function with the assemblies to realize how hard of a job it is and factor that into the estimate automatically. Also, the pricing in the Material costs category should have a box with Quantities that you can change to a whole number, not a percentage ('Waste'). Because at that point your guessing how much to take out or add out of 100% to get to the number you want and it's time consuming and difficult to do it that way.
Best bang for your buck
Comments: Love stack, I came from bluebeam and stack is so much more user friendly and has a lot more features to offer.
Pros:
The guy I hired to do take-offs used stack at his last job so it was easy for him to pick up where I left off on take offs
Cons:
The cost of he product is high but it does pay for itself
stacked review
Comments: i like it easy to use
Pros:
i like the take off part of stacked. i would like more training on how to use some of the other parts of stacked
Cons:
not knowing how to use some parts of stacked
Easy to use, to the point.
Comments: My company has been using STACK for over 2 years now. I tried other programs and found that STACK is simple yet get you all the information you need. Love that they dont over complicate things.
Pros:
Very easy to use, and navigate. The support is great, always helpful to have live support when you need it.
Cons:
Not much integration. We use STACK and RSMeans. would be great if they worked together.
Stack
Comments: we have used it since its inception and have found they keep improving the program, the it team listens when you have a suggestion and incorporate it
Pros:
Ease of use, the ability to save money by having all the options ala cart
Cons:
Not much, they have corrected any issues we ever had with it, they always are improving the product
Great for takeoffs
Comments: It is great for coordinating between p.m.'s and estimators.
Pros:
It gives you real time update for the team.
Cons:
Not a thing. It does what we need it to do.
Stack Attack
Comments: Overall, STACK has been my first introduction to estimating technology and the experience has been pleasant. I feel as though you can use STACK at any stage in your process.
Pros:
I appreciate STACK for it's use of ease. Everything is clearly listed and user friendly.
Cons:
I wish that STACK allowed UNDO options or a data base for documents. Sometimes things can be deleted mistakenly and unable to be replaced
Feedback
Comments: It's been a wonderful product for our office.
Pros:
It's easy to navigate and teach nee staff members.
Cons:
Sometime the program is slow to load and time between pages.
Estimating In Stack
Comments: I would say my overall experience with stack is great. Price is higher than average only con.
Pros:
I like the ability to see an accurate takeoff and cost in backend and push that over to an editable spreadsheet.
Cons:
The price is like $500 above the cost of similar software's. I also do not like nor being able to track my affiliate traffic like I can on other software's.
It works great for our business!
Comments: Short and Sweet. No complaints. If I can do it, anyone can
Pros:
I'm an old scale and printed out drawing guy. Stack took me a little longer to use mostly getting it set up for my biz. Once that is done its very easy even for a caveman.
Cons:
I don't use all the tools available to me. I'm sure there is shortcuts even to what I do now. Finding time to learn the new stuff is difficult
Review - Diverse Building
Pros:
Good features and ease of use, widely used by a number of team members, cloud based platform is a must.
Cons:
The symbols could be a bit better and a bigger range
Review by a daily user
Pros:
Ease at which you can generate worksheets with quantities from the takeoff and the ability to create proposals from the worksheet quantities.
Cons:
overlaying a revised plan over one that already has a takeoff never quite matches up and seeing differences is difficult
Easy to Use
Pros:
Stack is easy to use, is very accurate, and runs so smoothly.
Cons:
Glitches and loading problems out of our control
