Great and does the work for you

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Is having a current and standardized policies for our department. These are already created and update to date. It just has to get approved by the Union and once that happens all personnel can just watch videos or read materials and be up to date.

Pros:

The lexipol videos are great and give updates and tips of the day. These tips are great for briefings for our sworn and non-sworn personnel who work out in the field. It also is a great tool for the personnel we have that are wanting to begin a career in law enforcement. The tips of the day are great to just give them things to think about and be conscious of in the job duties currently and the future. The daily tips are not very long about two to three minutes I believe on average which makes it easy to watch and not feel as if you are losing out on a lot of time from your day. Because they are short they can couple in with other ones for briefings.

Cons:

Sometimes the tips of the day are not related to our field due to lexipol also including Fire and not just Police stuff.

Lexipol has MAJOR instability issues

1.0 5 years ago

Comments: This firm has an awkward system for member administration if you have a larger agency with much staff movement and change. The firm's tactic to "blame the user" when reporting system issues is reprehensible. Larger agencies will still have to retain considerable staff to administrate the system and update the new suggested polices provided, as well as update their unique procedures. Unknown as to how timely their policy changes really are regarding legislative and legal case updates.

Pros:

Command staff liked that Lexipol offered canned "policy" that is regularly updated for your state - so as to help negate the need to have staff to review legislative changes and recent court rulings. Command staff liked that the agency could amend Lexipol's canned suggested policies to suit the jurisdiction's idiosyncrasies. Command staff liked that the agency could additionally upload their unique procedures, to link with the guidelines in those Lexipol policies.

Cons:

My Department has paid over a million dollars so far to this firm to host our R&Ps. The process is lengthy and painstaking if you choose to retain your agency's procedures, and amend their canned "policies" to suit your agency. We are STILL not "live" after contracting in 2017. Contracting with them cedes your rights to ALL you upload - Lexipol copyrights even the policies wholly created by your agency once you upload. This means you will ALWAYS have to pay them WHATEVER they charge to access your R&Ps, or be sued for copyright infringement if you break away, and use only your jurisdiction's unique procedures wholly created by your staff. The system has been unstable for a month - and finally ceased allowing both input of new members as well as movement of members from command "groups" for several weeks now. Lexipol's staff first "blamed the user", but now has finally acknowledged THIER SYSTEM INSTABILITY and MAJOR ISSUES Documentation, including screenshots of issues using multiple browsers in versions noted as acceptable for use with their system was painstakingly collected as proof.

Policies in one place

4.0 7 years ago

Pros:

The system fits your needs and can be customized to user access easy. This is from a company that knows the field and knows its users constraints and abilities. I have only good things to say about Lexipol. They know the field, they know good policy, and they are easy to work with. I love the daily bulletin option the best. Everyone gets the important stuff in one place.

Cons:

I have nothing bad to say about Lexipol. The software platform is different than a basic windows platform so it takes a moment to get around but its not a problem.

They will develop your policies and reduce your liability.

4.0 7 years ago

Pros:

They cater the entire process to you as the client. They generate policies based on your need. They look at what you have in place and adjust as needed.

Cons:

It is a boiler plate design. So you will need to proof and adjust as needed to finally polish out what you need.

The program, offerings and training are very good, the customer service however is lacking.

3.0 7 years ago

Comments: This is a good product for public safety officers as it is easy for them to use and it keeps officers engaged, informed and in small departments a good tool.

Pros:

really a very good product for the members of our JPA in California, quality product and almost always very current. Very reliable information.

Cons:

The report generation and customer service is just short of terrible. It is rare for me to post something negative but the severe lack of customer support, terrible response to problems (months of waiting) Lexipol just dropping the ball with customer service, If there was a reasonalbe alturnative for our members I would recommend a change.

Just ok

3.0 5 years ago

Comments: It was ok, considering how many days I used it, it did what it was supposed to do and I moved on.

Pros:

It was easy to use, mostly organized, decent display and appeal. Not too hard to read. Kept track for the most part.

Cons:

The font was small and couldn’t be changed, did not put the policies in order and had to search for them.
